WELCOME "Social Studies: Going Digital"provides a collection of resources for social studies digital workshops. The goals of these workshops are to raise student achievement in social studies and to build capacity for digital instruction.
Teachers can no longer delay advancing in technical literacy. North Carolina's latest Teacher Proficiency Assessment Instrument (TPAI) includes the use of technology in observed lessons. Social Studies teachers are poised in a very advantageous position with a curriculum which provides rich opportunities for technology to provide tools to showcase the interdisciplinary power of the study of social studies.
During these workshops, teachers will learn how to use wikis, podcasting, voicethread, moviemaker, and especially geocaching.
